CBSE: Cyber ​​attack attempt on re-evaluation portal 1.5 million hits

A cyberattack attempt was detected on the CBSE re-evaluation portal on Tuesday amid heavy traffic. According to the board, some malicious actors launched repeated cyberattacks to disrupt the portal’s services. Despite this, thousands of students successfully completed their application process.

CBSE informed that the re-evaluation portal is currently supporting over 8,000 concurrent users at a time. As of 3 pm on Tuesday, over 16,000 students had successfully submitted their applications.

1.5 million hits in 2 minutes

According to the board, a recent denial-of-service (DoS) attack was attempted on the portal. During this attack, approximately 1.5 million hits were recorded within just two minutes.

More than one lakh attempts were made to access unauthorized files. CBSE stated that its technical teams are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure that students do not face any problems.

Changes in portal after feedback from students

CBSE stated that based on student suggestions and feedback, some improvements have been made to the portal. This includes extending the session deadlines so that students can complete the application process easily and without any rush. The board states that improvements are being continuously made to make the platform more convenient and smooth.
