Re-exam on 21st June
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), for admission to medical colleges, was scheduled for May 3rd but was canceled due to irregularities in the examination process, leading to violent protests across the country. The government has announced a re-examination on June 21st.
Hard work of students in vain: Rahul Gandhi
Speaking on the paper leak issue, Rahul Gandhi said that 2.2 million students had worked day and night for two years to prepare for the NEET exam, but all their hard work had gone to waste. He alleged, “The entire country knows that the NEET paper was distributed on WhatsApp two days before the exam.”

Attacked on Pradhan
Rahul Gandhi also accused Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of refusing to take responsibility for the controversy. He said, “Dharmendra Pradhan, who is the Education Minister of India, says I have nothing to do with this. A committee made a recommendation, but they threw it in the dustbin. He said that the committee has people from the opposition sitting on it, it has no meaning, there is no need for it.”
Destroyed Indian Education System
The Congress leader alleged that a nexus between the RSS, the BJP, and university officials has damaged the country’s education system. “Frankly, you have damaged the foundation of India,” Rahul Gandhi said. “It’s a nexus—the RSS, the BJP, and their allies in our universities: the vice chancellors and professors. They have a money-making nexus, and they have destroyed India’s education system.”
Vice-Chancellor appointments on ideological grounds
Rahul also claimed that vice-chancellor appointments are being made based on ideological affiliation rather than merit. He alleged, “The whole country knows that if you want to become a vice-chancellor, you don’t need subject knowledge or experience. If you’re from the RSS, you can become a vice-chancellor. But if your ideology isn’t RSS, you can’t become one.”
While connecting this matter to repeatedly paper leak incident, Gandhi claimed that papers have been leaked 80 times in the country and this has ruined the future of 20 million youth. “Because of this, papers have been leaked 80 times in this country and the future of 20 million youth has been ruined,” he said.
Rahul demanded strict action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak and reiterated his demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s removal from office. He said, “Modi should immediately order that Dharmendra Pradhan be dismissed. He should be removed from office. And those who are guilty should be arrested and sent to jail. Modi, dismiss Dharmendra Pradhan now.”
