21 people died and more than 47 were injured after a massive fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday. Several fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. According to media reports, the death toll may rise further. The dead include citizens of Central Asian and African countries.

After the fire, local resident Sher Khan said, “I was on my way to the shop this morning. Initially, it was a small fire, but it gradually grew. As the fire intensified, it seemed as if there was no escape or escape.

According to the Delhi Fire Service and locals, the fire broke out in the restaurant of the hotel in Malviya Nagar at 8:50 a.m. The fire spread to the rooms on the upper floors.

Videos of the incident show some people jumping from the burning building to save their lives. Locals even laid out mattresses on the ground to protect them.

So far, 40 people have been rescued, many of whom are in critical condition. More than six people were also pulled from the basement.

The cause of the fire at this Delhi hotel remains unknown. Sixty-six people have died in various fire incidents in Delhi in the past six months.
