Dhar: The MP High Court has delivered a significant verdict in the Bhojshala Temple-Kamal Maula Mosque dispute case. According to the Hindu side’s lawyer, the court has deemed the Bhojshala complex a Hindu temple. The court has dismissed the petitions filed by the Jain community and the Muslim side.
The decision was based on a report by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which the court relied on. The court’s ruling in the Bhojshala case recognized the complex as a temple dedicated to the goddess Vagdevi. Security has been increased in Dhar. Given the sensitivity of the matter, police and administrative officials are on high alert.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar gives statement
Regarding the Dhar-Bhojshala case, advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain stated that the Indore High Court, in a landmark judgment, partially overturned the ASI order of April 7, 2003. Furthermore, the court granted the Hindu side the right to worship and recognized the Bhojshala complex as the property of Raja Bhoj.
Dhar: Regarding the demand for the return of our statue kept in a museum in London, the Court directed the government to consider this request; the Court also stated that the Muslim side is free to present its views to the government. Additionally, the court has asked the government to consider allocating alternative land to the Muslim side. The court has granted us the right to worship and directed the government to oversee the management of the site. The previous ASI order, which granted the right to offer namaz, has been completely revoked; from now on, only Hindu worship will be performed there.

Bhoj Utsav Committee expressed happiness
A member of the Bhoj Utsav Samiti expressed happiness over the court’s decision, calling it a victory for the Hindu community’s long-standing struggle. He said that the activists who founded the Hindu Bhoj Samiti in 1935 had dedicated their entire lives to this issue. The Hindu community, present in large numbers, welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to all parties, advocates, and others involved in the struggle. Organization representatives stated that this decision was the result of long-standing efforts, and all those responsible deserve thanks.

What did the city Qazi say?
City Qazi Waqar Sadiq, representing the Muslim side, said that the detailed copy of the court’s decision has not yet been fully studied. According to him, a team of lawyers will closely analyze the decision to determine the basis for the ruling. If any errors are found in the verdict, the Muslim community will challenge it in the Supreme Court.
He said the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) report will also be reviewed. It will be important to see which parts of the report the court accepts and which it does not. Citing the example of the Ram Janmabhoomi case, he said the Supreme Court did not rely solely on the ASI report.
The Muslim side says that they filed thousands of objections during the survey process, which will be used as a legal basis. They also appealed to the public not to consider this decision as final, nor to view it as a victory or defeat. They appealed to both communities to maintain peace and harmony, and not to fall prey to any rumors or misinformation.
