Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has sent a legal notice to the makers of upcoming film ‘Kaala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.’ The firm “DSK Legal” issued the notice to casting director Akshay Pandey on the actor’s behalf. It demands an immediate halt to work on the film ‘Kala Hiran’ and a ban on its promotion. The legal notice alleges that the film is inspired by the actor’s blackbuck poaching case. It also claims that the film could harm the superstar’s reputation and hinder ongoing legal proceedings. Furthermore, it could also violate his personality rights.

The legal firm reportedly issued this legal notice on April 24, 2026. According to the notice, Salman Khan’s legal team learned that Akshay Pandey was allegedly contacting other actors and distributing material such as a film synopsis and character sketches, claiming the film’s story was inspired by the actor’s involvement in the Blackbuck case. The notice clearly states that Salman Khan has not given any permission or consent for any such use of his name, image, or alleged incidents involving him.

Case is going on in Rajasthan HC
The legal notice issued by the firm argues that the Blackbuck case is still ongoing in the Rajasthan High Court. Therefore, making a film based on this case could amount to obstructing the administration of justice. The notice claims that any sensational portrayal of this case could prejudice Salman Khan and compromise his right to a fair trial.

Salman Khan’s character in ‘Kala Hiran’ poster
The film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’ is being produced under the banner of “Jaani Firefox Media Pvt. Ltd.” Recently, its first look poster was released. The makers are describing it as a crime drama. In the released poster, a character can be seen holding a rifle and taking aim. Interestingly, this character is deliberately wearing a bracelet identical to Salman Khan’s. Furthermore, his hair style and look are also similar to Salman Khan’s. While releasing it, the makers said that this film is a suspense-filled film based on real-world legal battles and action.

‘Attempt to capitalise on Salman’s fame and reputation’
The legal notice issued by Salman alleges that the proposed film contains easily identifiable references to Khan and incidents related to him. The actor’s legal team states that using these images without consent would violate his personality rights, privacy rights, and publicity rights. The notice also accuses the filmmakers of attempting to capitalize on Bhaijan’s fame and reputation by creating a supposed connection between the actor and the project.
