Box Office Collection: ‘Krishnavataram’ surprised, ‘Raja Shivaji’ boom on 10th day, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and Dhurandhar 2 jump

Sunday was a great day for Hindi films at the box office. Once again, Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ earned the most on its tenth day of release. It also earned a whopping ₹15.60 crore in its second weekend, demonstrating its continued popularity among audiences. Where Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhoot Bangla’ was the second-highest grosser of the weekend.

The film has proven to be a box office hit, earning ₹38.85 crore in 24 days. But the most interesting one is ‘Krishnavatharam Part 1.’ Its earnings increased eightfold on Sunday compared to its first day. Neetu Kapoor’s ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ also managed to earn over ₹1 crore. Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is now in its final stages before its OTT release. On its 53rd day, it also benefited from the weekend, earning ₹1 crore once.

Currently six Hindi films are running in theaters. One of hem is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Main Actor Nahi Hoon,’ which released last Friday. Sadly, despite winning numerous awards at foreign film festivals, the film proved to be a box office disaster. In its opening weekend, the drama managed a net collection of just ₹14 lakh.

‘Raja Shivaji’ Box Office Collection

‘Raja Shivaji,’ directed by Riteish Deshmukh, is currently the highest-grossing film in theaters. According to Sacnilk, the film, released on May 1st, grossed an impressive ₹6.80 crore on Sunday, its 10th day. Of this, the Hindi version earned ₹1.80 crore, while the Marathi version earned ₹5.00 crore. The previous day, on Saturday, it earned ₹5.60 crore, and the day before that, on Friday, its eighth day, it earned ₹3.20 crore. This brings the film’s total gross collection in India to ₹81.00 crore and its net collection to ₹68.25 crore. Made on a budget of ₹100 crore, the film should easily recover its cost by its second or third weekend.

‘Bhoot Bangla’ Box Office Collection

The pairing of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan has delivered another hit for Bollywood. It’s interesting that despite mixed reviews, this horror-comedy has found widespread love from audiences. On its 24th day of release, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has earned a net collection of ₹4.10 crore (approximately $4.1 million) domestically from 4,291 shows. It earned ₹3.00 crore on Day 23. This brings the film’s total gross collection in India to ₹188.51 crore and net collection to ₹158.85 crore.

‘Bhoot Bangla’ Worldwide Collection and Budget

‘Bhoot Bangla’ has a budget of ₹120 crore. It has also earned a significant amount overseas. On its 24th day, it grossed ₹10 lakh overseas, bringing its total overseas gross to ₹53.10 crore. Including domestic and international releases, ‘Bhoot Bangla”s worldwide gross has reached ₹241.61 crore.

‘Krishnavataram Part 1’ box office collection

One film that saw strong box office growth over the weekend was Hardik Gajjar’s directorial ‘Krishnavataram Part 1.’ Based on the mythological tale of Satyabhama and Lord Krishna, the film earned a net collection of ₹7.32 crore in its opening weekend. Interestingly, on its opening day last Thursday, it earned just ₹4.2 million. However, on Sunday, earnings increased eightfold. On its fourth day, ‘Krishnavataram Part 1’ earned ₹3.5 million. Running in 1,995 shows nationwide, the film has grossed a total of ₹8.77 million in four days.

‘Daadi ki Shaadi’ Box Office Collection

Neetu Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, and Riddhima Sahni Kapoor’s ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ also benefited from the weekend. After earning just ₹60 lakh on its opening day, it earned ₹1.15 crore on its second day, Saturday. On Sunday, the third day, it earned ₹1.70 crore from 1,655 shows. Thus, in its first weekend, ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ has earned a total gross of ₹4.14 crore and a net collection of ₹3.45 crore in the country. However, it will return to the millions starting Monday. Made on a budget of approximately ₹45 crore, this film is also on its way to failure.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ box office collection: Crosses ₹1,794 crore worldwide on Day 53

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is now in its final days in theaters. The film is reportedly set to release on OTT platforms on May 15th. This sequel, starring Ranveer Singh, has achieved historic success. It benefited from the Sunday holiday on its 53rd day. Despite being shown in just 733 shows, it collected a net of ₹1.10 crore on Sunday. A day before, on Saturday, it had earned ₹90 lakh. With this, the total gross collection of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ in India has reached ₹1,368.10 crore and the total net collection has reached ₹1,143.09 crore. Whereas, with a total gross business of ₹426.55 crore in foreign countries, it has earned a gross of ₹1,794.65 crore worldwide.
