Indian ship: The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has strongly condemned the attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman on Wednesday (May 13). The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Thursday, saying such attacks are unacceptable. According to the official MEA statement, attacks on Indian-flagged ships are unacceptable under any circumstances. We condemn the continued targeting of commercial vessels and civilian seafarers.

Indian ship: Foreign Ministry statement
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Yesterday’s attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman is unacceptable and we condemn the continued targeting of commercial vessels and civilians. All Indian crew on board are safe and we express our gratitude to the Omani authorities for rescuing them.”
Indian ship: Randhir Jaiswal further said that India reiterates that targeting ships and endangering innocent civilian crew members, or in any way obstructing the freedom of merchant shipping, must be completely avoided.

Haji Ali ship sinks in the Strait of Hormuz
Another Gujarati cargo ship, the Haji Ali, has sunk in the Strait of Hormuz. It was transiting through Omani waters on the morning of May 13th when it was struck by a drone or missile-like weapon. Following the incident, the ship caught fire, although the Omani Coast Guard rescued all 14 crew members safely.
Indian ship: According to media reports, the ship, which was en route from Berbera Port to Sharjah, ran aground off the Omani coast around 3:30 a.m. The crew later reported hearing an explosive-like object hitting the ship, followed by a fire. Seeing the situation worsen, 14 crew members donned lifeboats and abandoned the ship. Omani authorities responded to the Indian crew.
Earlier on May 7, another cargo ship MSV AL Faiz Noore Soleimani-I from Dwarka, Gujarat, passing through the Strait of Hormuz, also became the target of firing between the US and Iranian Navy.
