If you’re advertising your property on online websites, beware! A horrifying incident has occurred in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, involving a couple in the name of a property deal. Vicious criminals not only held the couple hostage for five days, but also extorted approximately 48 lakh rupees from them under the threat of death.

The accused extorted 48 lakh rupees by holding them hostage and, in a very cunning manner, sent the victim couple by taxi to Delhi airport, from there giving them tickets to Ahmedabad. The victim, Vijay Laxmi Gupta, returned to Jaipur and filed an FIR at the Bhankrota police station.

What is the whole matter?

The case is from the Bhankrota police station area of ​​Jaipur, Rajasthan. The victim, Vijay Laxmi Gupta, and her husband, Sanjay Gupta, posted an advertisement for the sale of their house in Vaishali Nagar on a popular property website on February 4th. Seeing the advertisement, two individuals named “Shiva Ayyappan” and “Akhil Agarwal” contacted them. The conversation was so professional that the couple was not suspicious at all.

Threatened to kill by putting a knife to the neck

In her police complaint, the victim alleged that the assailants threatened to kill her husband by holding a knife to his neck and brandishing a pistol. They then stole his mobile phone, documents, checkbook, jewelry, and other belongings. The accused demanded ₹60 lakh from relatives, of which ₹47.9 lakh was collected in cash and through bank transactions. The accused also threatened to kill the victim couple if they complained to the police.

5 days of imprisonment and horrific torture

On May 2nd, the accused lured the couple to a villa in Bhankrota on the pretext of finalizing a deal. Upon arriving, the couple was shocked; several armed criminals were already present. The criminals held a knife to the husband, Sanjay,’s neck and, pointing a pistol at him, locked them in a room. According to the victim, they were held hostage from May 2nd to May 6th. During this time, they were brutally assaulted.

Delhi by taxi and Ahmedabad by flight

The criminals’ demeanor resembled a film villain. After extorting the money, they employed a cunning tactic to evade the police. They took the couple to the Mall of Jaipur, booked a taxi from there, and sent them to Delhi Airport. Furthermore, they forcibly handed them tickets to Ahmedabad, and then sent them off, threatening to kill them if they went to the police.

FIR lodged after returning to Jaipur

After returning to Jaipur from Ahmedabad, the victim couple mustered the courage to narrate their ordeal at the Bhankrota police station. Police have now identified the accused and launched a search for them. Police suspect this is the work of an organized gang that seeks wealthy victims through online websites.
