Two person were killed and several workers were injured in a massive explosion in a fireworks factory in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. This incident reportedly took place on Thursday morning. The explosion was so powerful that it shook the walls of nearby houses. People rushed out of their homes in panic. The accident occurred at a fireworks factory located in Tonkala, on AB Road in Dewas.

Workers were working in the factory
Dewas Collector Ritu Raj stated that the incident is being investigated. The situation is currently under control. Two workers have died in the accident. She added that more than 200 workers worked there. Several workers were working in the factory at the time of the explosion. An investigation is underway into how the fire started.

CM showed condolence
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also expressed condolences over the tragic firecracker factory explosion in Dewas district, calling the incident heartbreaking. While posting on his X account, he announced financial assistance for the victims’ families, directed officials to investigate the blast, and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Injured admitted to the hospital
Following the incident, all the injured were taken to Dewas District Hospital. Seriously injured workers were referred to MY Hospital in Indore, where they are undergoing treatment. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the explosion was heard several kilometers away. Following the blast, high flames and a plume of smoke were seen rising from the factory.

Fire brigade and administration team reached the spot
Police, administration, and fire brigade teams arrived at the scene after incident was reported. Around 8 to 10 fire brigade vehicles arrived, and the fire was brought under control. Relief and rescue operations were carried out swiftly. Ujjain IG Rakesh Gupta, DIG Navneet Bhasin, and Ujjain Commissioner Ashish Singh also arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the accident.
