Liquid Tree: A glowing green cylinder installed in Swami Vivekananda Park in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, has become the subject of discussion. It’s India’s first “Algae Tree,” or liquid tree with moss. To combat air pollution and climate change, Bhopal has adopted a highly advanced technology that seems nothing short of magical. This algae tree exists in liquid form and can purify the air as much as 25 trees alone. It’s worth noting that this machine, called the Algae Tree, was developed by the Mushroom World Group.

Liquid Tree: What is Algae Tree and how does it work?
The name Algae Tree may seem like a tree, but it’s actually a machine. It resembles a transparent tank filled with water and algae. The top of this machine is fitted with solar panels. These panels power the pumps and sensors inside the machine.
This technology works on the principle of a photo-bioreactor. It absorbs polluted surrounding air, and the algae in the tank, through photosynthesis, captures carbon dioxide and releases fresh oxygen. It also traps dust particles in the air.
India's first Algae Tree that converts carbon dioxide into oxygen, equal to 25 trees.
It also has solar panels on top and is installed in Bhopal's Swami Vivekananda Park.

One Algae Tree has the power of 25 real trees
Liquid Tree: According to reports, the biggest strength of this technology is its efficiency. Scientists claim that a single algae tree can absorb approximately 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide per year, equivalent to about 20 to 25 large, mature trees. This machine is a boon for urban areas where due to lack of space, many trees cannot be grown but Algae Tree can fulfill that deficiency by doing the work of 20-25 trees.
Is Algae Tree Technology an alternative to trees?
According to reports, the Algae Tree is not a substitute for real trees. Real trees are essential for soil health and shade, but this machine serves as an additional tool in crowded markets, bus stands, and roadsides.
This machine was developed by a team of over 50 experts over two years of hard work. It also features LED lights and battery backup for nighttime operation.
