VCK: TTV Dhinakaran files complaint against TVK

The Tamil Nadu political party AMMK has filed a complaint against the TVK at the Guindy police station. In the complaint, the AMMK alleges that the TVK used a fake letter of support to prove its majority. The complaint was filed by AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran. Officials say no case has been filed yet. The AMMK’s only MLA in the state is S. Kamaraj from the Mannargudi constituency. Dhinakaran said the TVK, which claims to be pious, is involved in fraud and horse-trading. However, the TVK rejected the AMMK’s allegations and released a video showing MLA Kamaraj himself signing the support letter.

DMK leader TKS Elangovan said – Vijay should have staked his claim to form the government alone

DMK leader TKS Elangovan has commented on the government formation tussle in Tamil Nadu. He said that TVK chief Vijay should have initially approached the Governor alone. Vijay contested two seats, so his party had 107 seats.

VCK: According to Elangovan, if Vijay had staked his claim as the single largest party, the Governor could have invited him to form the government. This would have given him a chance to prove his strength in the House. However, Vijay brought in other parties and the number reached 112. Even 112 seats falls short of the 118 required for a majority. While Vijay has staked his claim with a coalition, the Governor is now waiting for him to secure an absolute majority. This is why he is not inviting him to form a government. Vijay will now have to surpass the absolute majority mark to form a government.
