Padma: Veteran actor Dharmendra may no longer be alive, but his films and acting skills remain in people’s minds. His family has yet to forget his memories. Hema Malini, Bobby Deol, and Sunny Deol continue to share posts in his memory. In his respect and his contribution to the Indian cinema, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan before by the Government of India. And now on May 25, 2026, Dharmendra was posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Hema Malini arrived with her daughter, Ahana, to receive the award.
Emotional atmosphere
The Padma Awards were initiated with the late actor Dharmendra. President of India Draupadi Murmu presented Dharmendra’s Padma Vibhushan to Hema Malini. The atmosphere was deeply moving and emotional. As Dharmendra’s name was announced and Hema Malini went to receive the award, her eyes welled up with tears. She couldn’t hold back her tears.
Not only this, but daughter Ahana, sitting among the crowd, is inconsolable. She is seen crying profusely. With folded hands, she remembers her father Dharmendra and cries, which brings tears to Hema Malini’s eyes. Everyone certainly missed Dharmendra during this honor.
Dharmendra breathed his last at the age of 89
It is worth noting that Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. He breathed his last on November 24, 2025, due to organ failure. He was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle. No one was able to meet him during his final moments. His family, including Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, performed his last rites hurriedly. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan arrived at the crematorium to pay their last respects.
