Security agencies in the capital, Delhi, have busted a major terrorist network linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, and the Mumbai underworld, arresting nine suspected terrorists. This Special Cell operation is being considered one of the most significant counter-terrorism successes in recent years.

According to the information, arrested suspected terrorists were working for ISI and Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim. The investigation revealed that one part of the network operated at the behest of Dawood Ibrahim, while the other was operated by Shahzad Bhatti, who is based in Pakistan. The ISI is being considered the mastermind of the entire conspiracy.

Arrests from Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Punjab

According to investigating agencies, the accused were arrested in Delhi, Mumbai, Rajasthan, and Punjab. Sophisticated foreign weapons, grenades, and explosives were recovered from their possession. Preliminary investigations also indicate that the recovered explosives were smuggled into India from across the border.

Places planned to be targeted?

Sources claim that this network was plotting to target vital installations across the country. Potential targets included power plants, electricity generation and distribution centers, airports, railway stations, and other strategically important facilities. Security personnel are also suspected to be targeted.
