Take plenty of water

The risk of dehydration is highest during Nautapa, so it’s crucial to drink adequate amounts of water throughout the day. Water regulates body temperature and prevents heat stress. Consuming beverages like coconut water, lemon water, buttermilk, and ORS is also beneficial. This helps maintain electrolyte balance in the body and prevents weakness. Try to drink water frequently, rather than drinking a large amount at once.

Take light and fresh food

Nautapa also affects the digestive system, so eating light and fresh food is considered best during this time. Avoid oily, spicy, and heavy foods as they increase body heat. Include yogurt, cucumber, watermelon, melon, salad, and seasonal fruits in your diet. These not only cool the body but also provide energy. Fresh homemade food is the safest option during this time.

Stay away from Sunlight

During Nautapa, the effects of intense sunlight and heat waves are particularly severe, so avoid going outside between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you must go out for urgent work, use an umbrella, hat, or scarf. Applying sunscreen also protects the skin from harmful UV rays. Try to stay in shady areas and limit your exposure to direct sunlight.

Wear light clothes

To keep the body cool during Nautapa, it’s best to wear light, cotton, and loose clothing. These clothes absorb sweat quickly and allow the body to breathe. Dark-colored clothing should be avoided as they absorb more heat. White and light-colored clothing is more comfortable during this season.

Take proper rest

It’s not advisable to put additional stress on the body during Nautapa. You should avoid strenuous activity, heavy exercise, or working in the sun for long periods. It’s important to give your body adequate rest so it can recover from the effects of the heat. Getting some rest and adequate sleep during the day strengthens your immune system and reduces the risk of heat stress.
